Amazon shipped fifty percent more items this holiday season than last for third-party vendors, and it doubled the amount for 2016 overall. The world biggest retailer already said the 2016 holidays were its best-ever shopping season. But high spending on warehouses and video production are expected to drag on profits. Amazon reports earnings on January 26. Jeffrey Dastin covers the story for Reuters. (SOUNDBITE) JEFFREY DASTIN, CORRESPONDENT, REUTERS, (ENGLISH) SAYING: "The news does offer some hope for investors who were concerned about Amazon's profits after a forecast last year saying it would be anything from nothing to $1.25 billion, a huge range."
