A rare U.S.-Iran business deal. Boeing signed a tentative agreement valued at $3 billion to sell 30 737 MAX jets to Iran's Aseman Airlines. And Aseman has options to buy another 30 airplanes. It's the first major business deal between an American and Iranian company since President Donald Trump took office. Trump has been critical of Iran, saying he opposes the nuclear sanctions pact. Boeing said it negotiated the deal after getting permission from Washington. But this deal will still be subject to U.S. government approvals. After the Obama administration agreed to the sanctions deal, Boeing agreed to sell 80 aircraft to Iran's flag carrier, Iran Air. Trump so far has not weighed in the aircraft deals. Boeing cited something dear to Trump's heart - Commerce Department data suggesting that a sale would create or sustain about 18,000 jobs in the U.S. Boeing shares ascending at the market open, adding to their 14 percent gain this year.
