The Netherlands has unveiled a national monument in memory of the 298 people killed when Malaysia Airlines jetliner MH17 was destroyed over eastern Ukraine, Monday (June 17) the three year anniversary of the disaster. Some 2,000 relatives of the victims attended the event along with the Dutch royal family and prime minister. MH17's passengers came from 17 countries, but over two thirds were Dutch citizens. Authorities concluded the plane was shot down by Russian-made surface-to-air missile over territory controlled by pro-Russian seperatists, although Moscow has denied any of its rockets could have been used. The Netherlands has taken the lead in the investigation but has not formally identified any suspects.
