ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. People were seen running out of their homes late Thursday (September 7), as an earthquake of 8.2 magnitude struck off the southern coast of Mexico. Carlos Abraham Gutierrez Solis was waiting for his family to evacuate the house during the big tremor. Solis said he was working on his computer when the earthquake struck. He added that everything in his house was moving in a 'zig-zag' manner and it was hard for him to move quickly. The quake was apparently stronger than a devastating 1985 tremor that flattened swathes of Mexico City and killed thousands, but this time damage to the city was limited.
