Barclays CEO Staley says aims to stay two more years

LONDON, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Barclays Chief Executive Jes Staley on Friday said he would like to lead the bank for two more years, in his strongest public indication yet he wants to keep running the British lender.

“I think we’ll be here for another couple of years,” Staley told reporters on a conference call in response to a question about the timing of his departure following media reports last year that the bank’s board had begun a search for a successor.

“It would be nice to be here in kinder winds,” Staley said, referring to the current tough economic environment.
