UK's Raab says: difficult to believe Russia not involved in Belarus jet incident

LONDON, May 24 (Reuters) - Britain said on Monday it was difficult to believe that Russia was not involved, at least by acquiescence, in the Belarus jet incident but that it had no clear evidence of Moscow’s involvement yet.

Asked in parliament by a lawmaker about possible Russian involvement in the incident, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said:

“We don’t have any clear details on that, and I’ll be careful what I say at this point, because as he says it’s very difficult to believe that this kind of action could be taken without at least the acquiescence of the authorities in Moscow, but as I say it is unclear as yet.” (Reporting by Guy Faulconbridge and Paul Sandle, editing by Elizabeth Piper)
