Boeing vows to hold price discipline after Ryanair halts talks

Sept 6 (Reuters) - Boeing Co pledged discipline over jet prices on Monday after its largest European customer, Ireland’s Ryanair, walked away from negotiations over a major jetliner purchase.

“Ryanair is a long-standing partner. We value their business and are committed to supporting them,” a Boeing spokesperson said. “At the same time, we continue to be disciplined and make decisions that make sense for our customers and our company.”

In an unusually public spat over big-ticket airplane negotiations, Ryanair said earlier on Monday it had ended talks over a large purchase of Boeing 737 MAX 10 jets because the U.S. manufacturer wanted too high a price. (Reporting by Tim Hepher; Editing by Edmund Blair)
