CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as energy stocks, virus concerns weigh

Jan 11 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index opened lower on Monday, dragged down by weakness in energy stocks, while a surge in coronavirus cases in China and rising restrictions across the globe triggered concerns around an economic recovery.

* At 9:31 a.m. ET (14:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was down 89.14 points, or 0.49%, at 17,952.93.
