DATA: The Statistics Office releases data on industrial output, foreign trade and construction at 9:00 a.m. local time (0700 GMT)
PRIME MINISTER: Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis on Wednesday stepped up criticism of a European Commission audit into his possible conflicts of interest, calling the auditors incompetent and demanding a meeting with the head of the commission executive.
BUDGET: The Czech state budget may still end with the planned deficit of 40 billion crowns ($1.76 billion) this year if the economy does not slow down more than expected, the Czech Fiscal Council said on Wednesday.
BEER: For generations, Czechs have consumed world-beating volumes of beer in the smoky, wood-panelled rooms of their local pubs, all but indistinguishable from each other bar the brand of lager flowing from the taps.
CEE MARKETS: Central European currencies extended their gains on Wednesday as expectations for Federal Reserve interest rate cuts hit the dollar .DXY and a European Commission warning to Italy over its debt weighed on several crosses of the euro.

SUBSIDIES: The European Commission sent another audit of subsidies to Czech authorities, this time on agriculture. The audit again concludes that Prime Minister Andrej Babis has a conflict of interests and the Czech Republic should be returning some of the funds, the paper reports, citing unnamed sources.
The audit also involves Agriculture Minister Miroslav Toman of the junior coalition member Social Democratic Party (CSSD).

PROCUREMENT: The competition watchdog (UOHS) halted tender proceedings for armed personnel carriers (APC) by the Defence Ministry worth estimated 50 billion crowns ($2.19 billion) after a complaint by PSM Projekt System & Management. The decision by UOHS can be appealed.
