UK's Jet2 agrees to buy Airbus aircraft in $4.9 bln deal

Aug 31 (Reuters) - British airline and holiday group Jet2 agreed on Tuesday to an about $4.9 billion deal with Europe’s Airbus to buy 36 A321 neo aircraft, in a blow to current supplier Boeing.

The announcement, confirming a Reuters report from July, added that Jet2 could extend the order up to 60 aircraft, with a total value of about $8.1 billion, though the company has negotiated discounts from the list price. (Reporting by Yadarisa Shabong in Bengaluru; Editing by Ramakrishnan M.)
