EU countries back copyright reform targeting Google, Facebook

BRUSSELS, April 15 (Reuters) - EU countries on Monday endorsed an overhaul of the bloc's two-decade old copyright rules targeting Google and Facebook and seeking to protect the bloc's creative industries.

Nineteen countries voted in favour while six were against and three abstained. The overhaul won the green light from the European Parliament last month. (Reporting by Foo Yun Chee; editing by Francesco Guarascio)
