Merkel's conservatives want to double passenger levy on domestic flights

BERLIN, Sept 16 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives want to double a levy on domestic flight tickets, a party official said on Monday.

Air passengers flying within Germany currently pay 7.38 euros ($8.14) per ticket.

Andreas Jung, leader of the conservative faction in parliament, said connecting flights that are part of long-haul flights would be excluded from the increase.
