French markets watchdog bans net short positions until April 16

PARIS, March 17 (Reuters) - French regulator AMF on Tuesday said it has introduced a ban on net short positions for all shares negotiated in France for a month given the volatility of financial markets resulting from the coronavirus outbreak.

The decision will be in effect from March 18 and will last until April 16, the AMF said in a statement.
