Lufthansa should be supported but remain able to operate flexibly - minister

BERLIN, April 27 (Reuters) - Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer said on Monday he was in favour of protecting and supporting Lufthansa, Germany's flagship carrier, but stressed that the airline must remain able to operate flexibly.

Germany's ruling coalition is divided over whether the state should have a role in running Lufthansa in return for a rescue package the airline aims to finalise soon, politicians said on Sunday. (Reporting by Markus Wacket Writing by Michelle Martin Editing by Thomas Seythal)
