(*) POLITICS

Italy's Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio will step down as leader of the co-ruling 5-Star Movement on Wednesday, a senior 5-Star source said.

ECONOMY

ISTAT releases November orders and sales data (0900 GMT).

TELECOMS

French telecoms and media group Iliad has filed a request to have a 5G network-sharing agreement between Italian phone carriers Fastweb, a Swisscom unit, and CK Hutchison-owned Wind Tre annulled, a legal document and a source said on Tuesday.

MEDIASET

An Italian judge will wait until Feb. 1 at the earliest before ruling on a request by France's Vivendi to suspend a planned reorganization at the Italian broadcaster, two legal sources said on Tuesday.

(*) GENERALI

Chief Executive Philippe Donnet told La Stampa daily that the Italian insurer had a 3 billion euro war chest still available for M&A and it was considering opportunities in the asset management sector in UK, U.S. and Asia. In the insurance sector, Generali aims to strengthen its leadership in Europe, Donnet said.

BANCO BPM

Italy's third-largest bank said on Tuesday its board would propose the former head of Italian state lender CDP Massimo Tononi as new chairman.

POPOLARE DI SONDRIO

The board of Italian cooperative bank rejected a request by investor Amber Capital to be granted full shareholder status, the lender said on Tuesday.

ATLANTIA

The infrastructure group said on Tuesday that board member Andrea Boitani would replace Carlo Bertazzo as a member of its Human Resources and Remuneration Committee, following Bertazzo's appointment as Atlantia chief executive.

(*) FINCANTIERI

The Italian shipbuilder will have time until Jan. 31 to reply to European Union's preliminary conclusions on a planned merger with Stx France, daily La Repubblica reported, adding that Brussels in December said the deal was "incompatible" with antitrust rules. The report said EU's final decision is expected by Apr. 17.

(*) ENEL

Europe's largest utility should draw up a shortlist of potential buyers of its Romanian assets before the end of the first quarter, MF said, adding they were valued around 1 billion euros. Bidders in the first round included Macquarie, GIC and British Colombia Investment and DWS, it said.

Italy's biggest regional utility is teaming up with Rome utility Acea to bid for waste company Unieco Ambiente, MF said.

DIGITAL BROS

The video gaming company said on Tuesday it planned to buy all the assets held by Smilegate Holdings in Sweden's Starbreeze for a total price of 19.2 million euros. If the deal were successful, Digital Bros would be required to launch a public tender offer for the for the residual shares in Starbreeze.

Napoli got a 1-0 win over Lazio in Coppa Italia quarter-final on Tuesday.

The soccer team owner James Pallotta and U.S. billionaire Dan Friedkin are expected to reach an agreement for the sale of the Serie A club by February, Il Messaggero reported.
