Asia Distillates-Gasoil, jet cash differentials climb as supplies narrow

SINGAPORE, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Asia's benchmark gasoil and jet fuel cash differentials
firmed on Friday, lifted by signs of improved demand and narrowing supplies.
Cash premiums for 10ppm gasoil climbed to a more than one-year high of 38 cents a barrel on
Friday, up 4 cents from the previous session and its highest since July 2020. GO10-SIN-DIF
Sentiment in the gasoil market has been buoyed by strong arbitrage demand from the West and
lower regional exports in recent weeks that have helped tighten supplies at key storage hubs.
The jet fuel cash differential climbed to minus 8 cents a barrel to Singapore quotes, up
from minus 14 on Thursday and a 1-1/2-month low of minus 25 cents on Monday as pockets of
aviation demand emerge. JET-SIN-DIF
Gasoil stocks held independently in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and
storage hub STK-GO-ARA jumped 9% to 2.24 million tonnes in the week ended Sept. 9, according
to Dutch consultancy Insights Global.
Gasoil stocks rose amid high imports to ARA, said Insights Global's Lars van Wageningen.
ARA jet fuel inventories STK-JET-ARA were virtually unchanged this week at 1.03 million
tonnes, down just 4,000 tonnes from the previous week.
In Singapore, middle distillate inventories plummeted 13% to a near two-year low of 9.92
million barrels in the week to Sept. 8, Enterprise Singapore data showed on Thursday.
The middle distillate inventories, last lower in January 2020, were down 34% from a year
In the United States, distillate stockpiles, which include diesel and heating
oil, fell by 3.1 million barrels, versus expectations for a 2.6 million-barrel drop.

Two weeks of losses in U.S. offshore energy production spiralled on Thursday, with prolonged
outages from Hurricane Ida leading to oil contract cancellations around the globe.
The storm has removed more than 20 million barrels of U.S. Gulf production from the market.
Some 1.39 million barrels per day of crude and 1.72 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas
output were shut-in on Thursday, according to offshore regulator Bureau of Safety and
Environmental Enforcement.
Two 10 ppm gasoil trades, none in jet fuel.
