Mexico's Pemex to open bidding process for public-private contracts -Finance Minister

MEXICO CITY, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Mexico's Finance Minister Arturo Herrera said on Tuesday that state-oil firm Petroleos Mexicanos, known as Pemex, is exploring 15 so-called integrated exploration and extraction contracts, a type of public-private partnership.

Herrera said in a radio interview with Televisa that a bidding process for the contracts would be opened between November and the first quarter of 2020.

The government will "defend the credit rating" of Pemex, assuring the firm has money to invest and managing its debt profile so it is "more adequate," said Herrera. (Reporting by Sharay Angulo and Anthony Esposito; Editing by Susan Fenton)
