HONG KONG, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Australia and New Zealand Banking Group said on Wednesday it had appointed Simon Ireland as its managing director of international banking, replacing Farhan Faruqui who will take over as the lender’s finance chief.
Ireland is currently ANZ’s global head of financial institutions group and has been with the bank since 2008.
He will remain based in Hong Kong and lead ANZ’s institutional business in 19 markets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
Ireland will report to Mark Whelan, ANZ’s group executive for institutional banking, the bank said. (Reporting by Scott Murdoch in Hong Kong; Editing by Ramakrishnan M.)
