ZURICH, April 13 (Reuters) - BNP Paribas has expanded its investment banking business in Switzerland, the French bank said on Tuesday, appointing former HSBC M&A specialist Jan Masek as its Head of Advisory for the country. Masek spent six years as co-head of M&A for Germany and Switzerland at HSBC. Before that, he worked for JP Morgan for 16 years in a variety of M&A roles.
The executive has worked on the takeover of Syngenta by ChemChina, the sale of Sarasin to Jacob Safra (Switzerland) and the sale of Swiss to Lufthansa, among other deals.
Masek will report to Enna Pariset, Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking Switzerland, and join BNP Paribas’ Corporate & Institutional Banking Switzerland Executive Committee, the bank said.
