Siemens Gamesa plans no Spanish plant closures but "constantly" reviews - CEO

MADRID, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa currently has no plans to close further plants in Spain after starting a process of shuttering two sites, its chief executive said on Friday, but he added: “we constantly review”.

The company said earlier this month it would close one blade factory in the northwestern region of Galicia and one east of Madrid currently dedicated to blade repair, due to lack of demand and lower competitiveness of the sites.

These closures will affect up to 266 employees. (Reporting by Isla Binnie Editing by Ingrid Melander)
