Swiss National Bank recalls old series of banknotes

ZURICH, April 28 (Reuters) - The Swiss National Bank is recalling the eighth series of banknotes issued between 1995 and 1998 that has been replaced by the ninth series launched between 2016 and 2019.

The old notes will be recalled from April 30, 2021, after which they will lose their status as legal tender and will no longer be valid for payments, the central bank said on Wednesday.

The banknotes can be exchanged for an unlimited period of time at SNB counters in Bern or Zurich, and can still be used for payments at SNB and post office branches until Oct. 30.
