Dramatic video shows a mudslide violently hitting cars, homes and threatening residents in and around eastern Lima after heavy rainfall in recent days. Nathan Frandino reports.

Heavy rains washing away cars and flooding the streets of Lima this weekend, leaving a muddy mess on Tuesday for residents to clean up. Here in Chaclacayo, water reached 3 feet high. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) FERNANDO SANCHEZ, OWNER OF DAMAGED HOUSE: "Our furniture has been floating in the water, all our mattresses, beds, duvets." Mud from a landslide buried this truck. Chaclacayo Governor Jessica Jimenez says it wasn't the only thing covered by the slide. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) JESSICA JIMENEZ, GOVERNOR OF CHACLACAYO: "There has been a large landslide in Chaclacayo in valley areas like Qusipata, Laureles, Los Condores, Santa Ines, blocking roads, 3 de Abril too. We have around 100 people who've been affected, five uninhabitable houses." The rains and the floods injured at least 15 people, who suffered from fractures, blows and bruises... and who must now face the long process of cleaning up.
